Sorry, "Cumulative Hotfix 5 or greater" is "SqlServer 2005 Cumulative Hotfix 5 or greater", and only fixes the problem when SqlServer is causing it. You could check if you have similar to: ... PIT: mode=2 count=0x4ad (1197) - 996.81 Hz (ch=0) in VBox.log (or any higher than ~100Hz), and if you do have high PIT Hz lines, then find what process or config was causing that?
