It is my understanding that is not how the XP mode VM actually works. I  
could well be proven wrong on that though.

VirtualBox can already do something similar. Checkout 'seamless mode' in  
the manual and help files.

Again this I don't think the visage of a 'Virtual Machine' that MS have  
been putting out is the same as VirtualBox or similar virtualisation  
system.


What is the exact problem you are trying to solve here? I don't feel your  
current solution actually solves any problems.
