Hello :-) This is my first mail on this list, please excuse me if this subject was already discussed, but Google was not of enough help.
I'm setting up some virtualbox servers for my Linux User Group. I need to backup them running. I want to know if I correctly understood the "official" (recommended) workflow: * make a snapshot (with VBoxManage snapshot take..); * backup the result (all the files except the small open one holding the new diff) on some other computer; * _remove the snapshot_ with VBoxManage snapshot delete, not to stack snapshots; To recover, it should be enough to remove all the old files (probably damaged if the backup is necessary) and replace them with the backed ones. The UUID should be the same as this is the very same server. Is even VBoxManage snapshot restore necessary? I'm right? some comment? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-support-the-Linux-Documentation-Project/372073631002?v=wall http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-fan-page-of-Claire-Dodin/106485119372062?v=wall ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval Try the new software tools for yourself.
