Try to install XP SP2 and see how is it going (and/or try exepreimenting
with 2d acceleration and I suppose you installed Vbox Addons and/or
installing older flash)

Machines in Vbox should and are behaving like they are on real machine
(older Oses could not even detect that it is not real hardware).
I can just speculate its maybe some bug xp sp3/flash/osx vbox
relationship, so try to report is as a bug, you know where, on
virtualbox.org

Also just as a sidenote, things "programmed in flash" are truly bad for
my appetite.
