Hi. Thanks for your replies. Sorry for not being elaborate before.

The kernel was compiled on host OS that is ubuntu - 10.04 for my PC,
and I have tried it out by editing the grub, and it works fine. I was
just hoping if I could boot into the kernel using vbox. Then I can
work on the kernel, as well as work on my PC using Ubuntu. Is it
possible and if yes, can someone please guide me?
