Hi Folks:

I'm running VirtualBox 3.2.10 under Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. My machine has
an i5 processor with 4 cores and 8 GB of RAM. Booting a Windows 7 guest
(Ultimate 64-bit) takes a very long time to come up (like ten minutes!).

Here's what happens... I hit start. Disk activity begins. VirtualBox
splash screen comes up. The "Starting Windows" screen appears in full
screen mode. Then no (or very little) disk activity happens. At about
9:50 into this saga, the disk kicks in, the spinning colored balls appear
and morph into the windows logo and things proceed as normal.

I then shut down the guest and started it again a moment later. The boot
sequence worked as expected, taking about 1:15.

I have the guest settings as follows:
Base Memory: 4096 MB
Processors: 4
VT-x: enabled
Nested paging: enabled
Audio: PulseAudio / ICH AC97

Any ideas, please?

Thanks,

--Dan
