hi You can try to use "Solaris 11 express" as base OSuse the new feature of network Virtualization (crossbow) to create vnic and etherstub etc
then assign them to vbox guest OS (bridged network).you can install various VM-guest (linux, solaris, etc) for your network testing.
You can also use Solaris zone for various network setup also. hth some links on xbow and zone http://www.c0t0d0s0.org/archives/5355-Upcoming-Solaris-Features-Crossbow-Part-1-Virtualisation.html http://blogs.sun.com/observatory/entry/zones_and_crossbow1 http://blogs.sun.com/observatory/entry/fun_with_crossbow vbox cluster example http://blogs.sun.com/TF/entry/new_white_paper_practicing_solarisOn 12/23/10 05:54 AM, [email protected] wrote:

Need a little more info. You're welcome Oda. Please do not top-post. Please reply in-line. It's far easier for people to follow.I have Windows XP, antivirus/firewall, and an oldie accounting program installed on VirtualBox 3. Are these items "Guest Data" and will they continue to exist after I uninstall Version 3?The data you cite above exists in the .vdi (the virtual disk) and will exist after you uninstall VBox 3.x. When you uninstall VBox 3.x, you're only uninstalling the software, not any of the ancillary data: VM's, etc. HTH. Cheers,
