First, there are two kind of Solaris. For SPARC and for x86.
If you want to test a Solaris SPARC software, then you need to have the SPARC 
hardware with Solaris SPARC OS.

However, if you already have a Solaris SPARC Hardware and it is running Solaris 
10, you can create a Solaris Zone, which can be used for the testing purposes 
on the currently running hardware.
