Running VBox 4.0.6 PUEL, WinXP guest on Mandriva 2010.2 host on laptop. When in the UK, there is no problem with the laptop WinXP guest accessing the internet wirelessly via Bridged.
However, here in France, using the same laptop, connecting to a hotel's WiFi signal, although Linux itself has no problem with email, newsgroup, or browser access to the internet, the WinXP VBox VDI fails to connect to the internet. (E.g. ping www.bbc.co.uk fails, and Firefox cannot reach that site (although Linux's Fiorefox has no problem), also another app fails to connect). N.B. To acquire the hotel's WiFi signal, I have to start Firefox, which then shows a hotel window requesting I hit 'Connect', after which I have internet access. Can anyone suggest what needs changing here, please?
