Dear list...

I´ve been runnning Virtualbox until now on a single-cpu, dual-core AMD
Opteron system, and it works great.

The motherboard of this system has a dual-cpu capability, meaning I could
add a second dual-core Opteron.
I wonder what kind of speed boost I could get (if any) wrt VirtualBox use,
more specifically if I have two virtual machines working side by side.

Would the guest VMs see four cpus? (2x 2cores)?. Is it possible to assign a
second VM to the second dua-core CPU?.

Thanks in advance.

semi-OT:
PS: In my previous experience with SMP systems, (a dual-cpu Pentium III) I
remember that CPUs had to be of a matching stepping number, otherwise the
pair of CPUs couldn´t run together. Is this the same case with AMD Opterons?
or can I just add _any_ AMD Opteron (a 2216 fwiw) to this system withouth
consideration for its stepping# ? -TIA
