I'm running debian unstable with virtualbox (and other related packages) from Debian repositories. Everything works great! USB devices work great. I've played with the USB filters, and I can enter filters for a specific device. When that device is inserted, the vm will then pick it up just fine. I want to deploy PCs running windows in virtualbox in a school environment. This means that any number of different flash drives, and other devices may be used. I NEED some kind of wild card or catch-all for ALL USB devices to be to go directly to the vm. From the documentation, every field says that a blank entry matches all, so naturally, I created an empty filter with no criteria. That didn't work.
I suppose I could deal with specifying that specific devices are filtered to the vm like: all mass storage devices, communication, imaging, etc. I guess this would be even better because I wouldn't want USB keyboard/mice to be grabbed by the vm. I've read a few posts to this site from a while back (maybe a year or more) requesting the same thing. Nobody ever answered their posts. Any ideas are suggested. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a definitive record of customers, application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity and more.
