I want to play with hot adding/removing CPU's in my virtual machines, but apparently I need to have the gest stuff installed...
(pysical machine): [celia.pts/6]$ VBoxManage controlvm 'Debian ZFS Tests' unplugcpu 1 VBoxManage: error: Hot-Remove was aborted because the CPU may still be used by the guest VBoxManage: error: Details: code VBOX_E_VM_ERROR (0x80bb0003), component Console, interface IConsole, callee nsISupports Context: "HotUnplugCPU(n)" at line 137 of file VBoxManageControlVM.cpp But after a whole day trying to install/build the modules etc, I now get this: (virtual machine): root@lenny:~# /etc/init.d/vboxadd-service start Starting VirtualBox Guest Addition service VBoxService: error: Control: Failed to connect to the guest property service! Error: VERR_INVALID_PARAMETER VBoxService: error: Service 'control' failed pre-init: VERR_INVALID_PARAMETER ...done. I'll assume it's because of my environment: x86_64 kernel, 32bit userlands... ? Just want to verify before I dig deeper... Btw, I had to force a 32bit unpack in /opt to even get this far. The installer gave me 64bit binaries... -- Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The demand for IT networking professionals continues to grow, and the demand for specialized networking skills is growing even more rapidly.
