Hi vbox-users, I have a VM with 3 consecutive snapshots, but there's an inaccessible VDI attached to the oldest snapshot. Actually, I removed that file after attaching a clone of it to the VM ... bad idea. :-(
The VM can still be run, but I cannot remove the oldest snapshot: D:\>vboxmanage snapshot ecside delete 2011-10-27 0%... Progress state: E_FAIL VBoxManage.exe: error: Snapshot operation failed. Error message: Could not open the medium 'D:\ECSIDEVM\ecsidevm\ecside.vdi'. VBoxManage.exe: error: VD: error VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND opening image file 'D:\ECSIDEVM\ecsidevm\ecside.vdi' (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) Likewise, I cannot 'closemedium': D:\>vboxmanage closemedium disk 216377c7-1bc3-4047-bba9-a00fff877f9b --delete VBoxManage.exe: error: Cannot delete storage: medium 'D:\ECSIDEVM\ecsidevm\ecside.vdi' is still attached to the following 1 virtual machine(s): 1cf38457-39d9-422f-8338-ccac18239a92 VBoxManage.exe: error: Details: code VBOX_E_OBJECT_IN_USE (0x80bb000c), component Medium, interface IMedium, callee IUnknown Context: "DeleteStorage(progress.asOutParam())" at line 1178 of file VBoxManageDisk.cpp VBoxManage.exe: error: Failed to delete medium.
