What you want is possibe in theory. Mind you I don't have a mac to test
on. Get to know vboxmanage. Its a command line tool with all the same
features as the gui tool with a few extras. Vboxmanage startvm {vmname}
should start the vm.
Once you find a command that works create a system init script that starts
the vm at system boot.
You'll need a second init script to shutdown the vm when the system shuts
down.
