All,

I just recently starting having issues with VirtualBox running on an
Ubuntu 11.10 64bit machine. Specifically, I am running Windows 7
Ultimate 64bit as a guest machine on an Ubuntu 11.10 64bit
(3.0.0-15-generic kernel) host machine. I am running VirtualBox
4.1.8r75467.

When I attempt to install GuestAdditions 4.1.8
¨VBoxWindowsAdditions-amd64.exe¨, in Safe Mode, I get the following
error message:

¨The setup detected a corrupt/invalid DirectX installation. In order to
get Direct3D support working, consulting the VirtualBox manual is highly
recommended. Continue anyway?¨

I select continue anyway, and the GuestAdditions installation
continues. I am able to launch my Windows7 virtual machine. However, I
am not able to adjust my Windows7 virtual machine to fit my monitor
size. As such, it seems that only a portion of the GuestAdditions
functionality is working properly.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Thanks,
