I have VBox 4.1.10, and discovered that I needed both the Extensions and
Additions... the one working with the linux, host side and the other
with windows client side... to use a flash drive with the xp client.

When I downloaded the extensions... double-clicking didn't do it... I
finally discovered that I needed to make a choice under File to load
the Extensions manually... VBox says they're loaded but then still
complains...

  Extensions:
  Result Code:  NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x00004005)
  Component:  Host
  Interface:  IHost {dab4a2b8-c735-4f08-94fc-9bec84182e2f}
  Callee:  IMachine {5eaa9319-62fc-4b0a-843c-0cb1940f8a91}

...when I try to set the USB 'filter' or whatever for the xp vm.

And now when I add the Additions from within the xp client I get

  szAppName : VBoxService.exe  szAppVer : 4.1.10.0
  szModName : VBoxService.exe  szModVer : 4.1.10.0  offset : 0001e135

right after the first device driver loads... I still get the dialog
about the 'want to continue or no' with the driver installations, as
they are not registered with ms, or whatever... but only twice now,
instead of three times.

I have two machines and, both with 4.1.10, and the other works fine with
the Extensions and Additions and USB.

I wonder what is wrong? I really do need access to the flash drive.

Any help appreciated.
