Maybe the vboxdrv didn't get setup properly.

See if they are loaded properly:

#/etc/init.d/vboxdrv status

VirtualBox kernel modules (vboxdrv, vboxnetflt, vboxnetadp, vboxpci) are loaded.

If they aren't then you can set them up again,

run the command:

#/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
