Whatever method you use to vet subscriptions to this list (which would be really annoying to those who are genuinely seeking support for a real problem) it simply needs to identify the person to make them accountable for their posts.
Having said that, I'd be quite happy, in this case, to provide a scan of my passport photo page, or other identification documents, but as I said, it would be really annoying if I wasn't a member of this list and I needed urgent community support for Virtualbox.
I'd rather they try to verbally abuse me directly, rather than cause a nuisance for the list (but I've already shutdown the anonymous remailer service they was using from sending me more emails :-) and blocked tor exit nodes from browsing my websites ;-) ).
