Hi, I can't get a Windows Vista guest to execute a command from a linux host. See below for the error message, setup and the results of a few preliminary debugging experiments.
Right now, I've run out of ideas to proceed with this problem, and I'd appreciate very much any help to find the cause of the error. Thanks in advance, Erik Leunissen. -------------- The command and the error message: > VBoxManage guestcontrol WindowsVista32Raw execute --image wordpad.exe --username erik --password **** --wait-stdout --wait-stderr VBoxManage: error: Process execution failed: The specified user was not able to logon on guest. Context: - VirtualBox 4.1.18 (r78361) - host is openSuSE 11.4 Linux - Windows Vista guest running with desktop - Guest Additions have been installed Experiments thus far: - whether user erik is logged on and running a desktop session, or isn't logged on at all doesn't make a difference - replacing "wordpad.exe" with "ipconfig.exe" doesn't make a difference - changing username and password to those of the administrator account doesn't make a difference -- end of message ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
