Yes you can run a VM inside another VM (with caveats) but it's generally 
not considered good practice and should be avoided if possible. 
Performance will be comparatively poor for the nested VM and you usually 
can't use hardware virtualization within for a nested VM which means 
software virtualization only and all the associated limitations with it.
