I am interested as I have long wanted to experience the Mac, but I am not going to shell out a grand or more just to try it.I might be prepared for a much smaller amount, but for an authorized copy, juts to have a Mac on my PC. (I know it will not be the full Mac experience when emulated, but will it work?)

My understanding is that you cannot legally run Mac OS X Software on non-Mac hardware.

The Retail software you can purchase covers installing either on Mac Hardware or installing in Virtual environments running on Mac Hardware host systems.
