Hi,
I have a Solaris 11 host running vbox in bridged mode and zones with exclusive
ip on vnics,
all linked to the main igb0 physical.
both vbox guests and zones can estabilish tcp with the network and the host.
More, zones can do it with other zones, and vbox guests with other vbox guests.
Looks like vbox guests can't estabilish tcp with zones and vice versa.
They both ping each other though.
Looking deeper, looks like VBox guest can't reply.
Snooping on the host igb0 for packets of 192.168.222.3 (the zone), I can see
that:
telnetting from VBox guest to the zone shows this:
www -192.168.222.3 IMAP C port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
www -192.168.222.3 IMAP C port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
www -192.168.222.3 IMAP C port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
www -192.168.222.3 IMAP C port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
www -192.168.222.3 IMAP C port=44396
so the zone got the packet, replied but no other response from vbox
telnetting from the zone to the vbox guest:
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP R port=44396
www -192.168.222.3 IMAP C port=44396
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP C port=54905
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP C port=54905
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP C port=54905
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP C port=54905
192.168.222.3 -www IMAP C port=54905
so the connection starts, then again no reply from vbox....
Any clue??
Gabriele.
