I have configured a VM to boot an ISO image file, which loads a Linux OS
with a rudimentary menu or a GUI desktop environment. When I enter the menu,
it also allows me to escape from it to a command line interface. Upon doing
so it has an instruction about how to enter one of several consoles. The
instruction says that I can use a keyboard combination of Alt+Ctrl+F1, for
example, to enter the first of these consoles. I should note that this VM
does not allow for mouse integration and requires that I capture the mouse
or keyboard manually. Having said that, it is not clear to me what keystroke
combination should be used to get into the consoles. I tried the Alt+Ctrl+F1
by itself as well as after tapping the Host key, and I tried a few different
other combinations but without success. Nothing seems to cause the console
to appear. Any ideas on what I am missing here?
