Hey Kourosh,

That sounds suspiciously like a problem with the video driver in your 
Linux installations.  I run CentOS 6.3 as my host system.  I see this 
same behavior after a kernel update until I install an updated video 
driver compatible with the new kernel using yum.

I don't know how to start Linux in init state 3 when it's a VB guest. 
I'll leave that up to you to figure out.

I may be totally wrong here. YMMV
