I always sudo pkg install ... Didn't even know you could install as a non-root
user...
So until it's fixed, there's a workaround...

The Solaris build has a bug. When installing extensions as a non root user, it
attempts to look for pkexec and not pfexec when it is time to elevate
privileges to complete installation. Not sure when this got changed but there
you go.
