I found an amazing program for Windows that helps my productivity while
working with virtual desktop environments on a single machine, and I want to
mention it because it is probably worth your while at least to take a look
at it. The program is called DeskSpace, and it is available from here:

It is not free, although you do get a trial period, but it doesn't cost too
much either. Considering how it has helped, it certainly is a good value.
The concept is pretty simple really, but applied to running virtual machines
on a single machine, it makes a lot of improvement. Basically, it turns your
desktop into a three-dimensional cube and allows you to manage each of its
six surfaces as separate spaces, running different programs, etc. It has
created a lot of ways to manipulate the cube quickly both with hotkeys and
the mouse. So you can work with it however you like to do. It is quite
intuitive and efficient, if you have a lot of ram to work with; but if you
have multiple VMs, you probably have a goodly amount of ram also. I am quite
impressed with it.
