Though openSUSE has its problems this is not likely to be one. I haven't
checked the vbox source, but the only way I can think of is that the access to
the drives done by vbox is not checked as the user running but as nobody (or
some hardcoded uid/gid).
I would not expect to be a difference in accessing the host drive via
VBoxManage or VirtualBox, but there is.
