That's not a problem.
Remove the disk from the IDE controller. (without removing the disk itself) And
attach to the sata controller.

I wonder if, technically, is there any performance advantage in configuring
virtual disks as SATA vs IDE...
Im running a 32bit Linux guest (Fedora 19 beta) on Win7-64 host,. By mistake I
configured the empty vdi file as IDE-slave
instead of the default SATA.
Will I incurr in any performance penalty for doing so?
