I found how to do it: had to build the entire VirtualBox sources from scratch,
build and install
into a prototype directory.
But first, I had to patch a couple of files to let it handle and prepare new
X11 versions for Solaris.
Now I have the VBoxAdditions.pkg specific for our XStreamOS/illumos Desktop :)
If anyone is interested, I can provide the patches.

Guest additions have to be rebuild after a kernel ABI change anyway.
Usually, the command
sudo /etc/init.d/vboxadd setup
takes care of that (or DKMS).
The installation scripts contain compilation steps as well.
However, I'm not sure that's enough for your purpose.
