Hello,

Could someone shed some light on how VBox handles memory ?
I am asking this question just for knowing it.

Currently, we create a Guest VM, and in its config, define the amount of
RAM to be allocated. When the Guest VM is started, the specified RAM is
acquired and reserved on the Host OS.

Is this the correct understanding ??

If so, I was wondering if having an upper and lower limit for RAM, could
be a feature request for VBox.

The user could specify the lower limit, which would be a bare must, for
the chosen Guest VMs operating system. The upper limit could be the max
the Guest VM could be allocated by the Host OS.

This would effectively allow saving some RAM, which as in today's config
in VBox, might be blocked and idly wasted.
