Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I am seeking a minimal Linux kernel config for use within VirtualBox. My ultimate goal is producing a gateway/workstation solution similar to Whonix, containing kernels hardened with grsecurity.net

Most recently I started with Linux 3.14.17, ran make menuconfig, and removed drivers for over 9,000 obscure gadgets, which has left me with a kernel that compiles quickly, but which does not boot. I have hunted around with duckduckgo (not a verb yet!), I find some very dated efforts to do what I need, and I was not terribly impressed with the Linux acumen of those who have posted solutions.

A finished .config file would be great, but even better would be one marked up noting which features are needed and why, so I can better understand how to integrate grsecurity into the mix.
