I had a setup with a CherryPy web server running on a Linux Mint 19
(Ubuntu) guest that ran in VirtualBox 6.0.14 that was hosted by Window
10 Home Edition, I was able to connect with the web server from both the
host and another machine on the same LAN.
However VBox invited me to upgrade to 6.0.18 and I (foolishly, I know)
complied .
The setup no longer works. Since Window 10 is continually upgrading that
may be the problem but I think it is how I set up VBox after the upgrade.
What is odd is that:

when I enter > ipconfig on the host the Virtual Host goves me an IP
address of 192.168.56.1.
*
when I enter >ifconfig on the guest, it gives inet 192.168.3 under
enp03.
This does not seem compatible.
The VBox setting are:
The Host Network Manager has DCHP enabled and the Host-only Ethernet
Adaptor set to automatically find an address which it does at 192.168.56.2
I have tried http://192.168.131.3:8088/, http://192.168.56.1:8088/ and
http://192.168.56.2:8088/ to no avail. I feel if only I could get the
guest to boot up with the last address all would be good.
In the Network settings for the Mint guest I have two adaptors
1.
A bridged adaptor
2.
A NAT adaptor for external browsers
I am accessing the server on port 8088 and have incoming and outgoing
firewalls set up in Windows to allow this. The Mint firewall is inactive.
Any idea how I can get this to work again, please?
