Kudos to Oracle on Virtualbox working seamlessly with the 5.12 kernel! For the past several years, running Archlinux, I have cringed each time there was a kernel version update, because virtualbox would break, failing to build the kernel modules or kernel panics on headless guests. Granted, Arch is generally no more than a few days behind upstream and a week or so with the kernel, but I can't remember the last kernel version update where Virtualbox didn't break, until... Today!
Saw the 5.12 kernel would be installed as an update, so I checked the vbox download site and a shiny new 6.1.22 was there. Checked, 5.12 support was included, so I updated vbox and then told pacman to go for it. A few minutes later, after the successful DKMS module build and a reboot -- bingo, it's all working swimmingly. So kudos Oracle, job well done. With 5.12, we now have a winning streak of 1 -- let's see many consecutive kernel version updates we can keep this going... -- David C.
