Now fixed, I think I must have added some other grub bits and pieces
earlier in my attempts to get this to boot and they must have stopped
the keyboard working.

Starting afresh with a clean W10 image and adding just the above at
the grub prompt produces a working Virtualbox W10 client.  :-)


To my surprise the above grub incantations get remembered and don't
have to be entered every time I fire up the W10 client in Virtualbox. 
Is this something clever that Virtualbox does or has grub somehow
remembered?
