The Virtualbox 7.1.4 installer when run on a fully updated Win10 Pro system (22H2 with latest windows update hotfixes) shows the following message: https://imgur.com/HNXZ4YH
and then proceeds to this "a fatal error has occurred" https://imgur.com/KqcQx0g And finally this awful dialog, which I suspect must be from Windows Installer (but I could be well be wrong): "Installation failed! Error: Unrecoverable error during installation" https://imgur.com/a/jEoUg9W I think the second dialog is a bit rude and could well use some directions to the end user of where to find such runtime (h*ck there should bea button "download andinstall now"), but the third is totally unnecessary. I wonder if devs could do something to either make it friendlier or skip it altogether. For me an unrecoverable error is something more dramatic: no hdd space left. cpu not supported. the PC is on fire. Installing a missing runtime is totally recoverable. In fact, the installer should either do it in the background "automagically" or direct uers on how to do it (eg "install runtime now" button). Just my two cents ... FC
