Brad, I am by NO means an expert with this stuff... I DO know where some of the landmines are located though... I'm a rawhide enthusiast.
I don't use the newer KDE much, I use WindowMaker (quite stable but the author(s) are VERY BUSY. I would install the xorg* packages with dnf install xorg'*' and try again with the additions.
