I have the following setup:
Host: Win XP
Host video card: Intel 82865G

Guest: Debian 4.0 etch.
Guest video driver: vesa

I put the line
<ExtraDataItem name="CustomVideoMode1" value="1280x1024x16"/>
on the ExtraData section of VirtualBox.xml in order to enable a resolution of
1280x1024 in my linux guest.
Debian starts ok, but I can only use a resolution of 1024x768 max.
I have put vga=794 (vesa mode for 1280x1024) in the grub kernel line, but I get
an error of mode not valid
If I put vga=791 (vesa mode for 1024x768) linux boots ok.

Do someone have had success with linux guest in 1280x1024 resolution??

Regards,
Miguel Cobá
