Dear All,

special drivers), but in fact it runs as fast as your system allows. For example, scp from a Debian 3.1 guest to my host system and vice-versa gives me around 5 MByte/s (just a quick test, may depend on the guest).

Anyway, I was able to play an MPEG2 video with shared folders correctly (with system load >=1), but with Samba + netcard it just didn't play smoothly, in fact there was a half-second pause after each second played. My system load didn't go above 0.4.

So there seems to be a serious performance hog somewhere when using Samba 3.0 on the Linux host and Windows XP as a guest. If I should provide detailed information and I should make exact measurements, please let me know.

Best regards,

Péter
