1. Installation:

The startup script /etc/init.d/VirtualBox requires a "major" number
from /proc/devices. It is not there and it is not possible to manually insert
one. How does on set this up or does one simply modify the script and assign
a major number (which one)?

BTW, I have a static /dev. I have not yet gone over to udev because of all the
problems contiinually reported with it. (Dates from the original knoppix HD
install.)

2. Interoperability Question:

I have a win98 image file installed using qemu. Is it possible to use/convert
this image file to vdi or iso format and use it in VirtualBox or must I start
over again?

3. Qemu vs VirtualBox:

The nice UI is quite similar to any number of those for launching qemu. Seems
they do pretty much the same thing except qemu emulates specific sound card
and other hardware. Any serious comparisons around?

4. Audio:

ALSA has replaced OSS as Linux standard.
Jack?
