Hi, I'm trying to create a virtual hard disk to install Ubuntu Linux on but
it seems that a disk larger than 4GB cannot be created. A virtual disk image
file larger than 4GB is created on the psychical hard disk but in the virtual
box settings, where the virtual machine is listed, it reads as 115.00MB when I
have in fact created a 4.11GB virtual hard disk image. and checking the
directory where the image is located confirms that in fact the virtual disk of
4.11GB has been created even though the settings where the virtual machine is
listed shows that there is only a 115.00MB disk. This discrepancy I feel, is
the cause of me not being able to install Ubuntu. When I try to install Ubuntu,
I get the error message saying the creation of swap space in partition # 5 of
IDE1 master (had) failed. Anyone know if one can create a virtual hard disk of
over 4GB? Does it have to be a dynamically expadning image or can it be a fixed
image? I tried using fixed image for the disk. Thanks.
