hi there all - got a new laptop and thought i will try virtualbox but getting
very low benchmarks of it...
my laptop is a core2duo 5500, intel 945gm graphics, 2gb ram and sata disc. i
have both winxp media centre and ubuntu as hosts and installed xp pro sp2 as
guest. i have used PC Wizard 2007 for benchmarking and i have done the same on
an old dektop with athlon xp 1700+ and ati 32mb agp card. here are the
benchmarks results:

as you can see there is a huge performance drop on the laptop. it only runs at
30-50 percent of host speed compare to same guest vdi on desktop running at
over 80 percent of host speed. is that expected? is there something i can do to
speed it up?
FYI i have run vmware server on the laptop with similar results to virtualbox
and also similar results on ubuntu host with same xp.vdi
