Hi, this tip is for anyone interested in installing Debian as a guest in
virtualbox. I have a i386 computer and ran into the following problem. The
hardware detection process froze at configuring network Interface. To get
around this, I imputed "linux26" at the boot prompt to boot with a linux kernel
version of 2.6. This got me around the freezing at the detecing netowrk
interface screen and I was able to continue installing as instructed to do so
by the on screen instructions. I used the Debian Net Install CD but the 14 full
install CDs or the 2DVDs may or may not have the same problem. After the
install, everything was fine but the screen did not take up the full space even
in full screen mode for some reason. I don't know if this is the case of
virtualbox or not but everything else seems to be working.
