Hi everybody,

a few days ago, I discovered VirtualBox and after trying it now for some
days, I must admit that it works great. But there is one thing, which I
seem not to be capable to do: Enabling Sound in a MsDOS guest

My host is running WinXP Sprof SP2. I already set up a Win2000 guest,
which works pretty well (also the sound). But for my MsDOS guest, I simply
miss some fitting drivers. I know that VB emulates an Intel AC'97, but I
simply cant find a driver for this device under DOS. I already tried some
DOS soundcard drivers for various VIA AC'97, CMEDIA AC'97, Creative
SB16/Pro/128/... and so on, but none of them is working. The SB drivers
are complaining about "cant find soundcard" while the VIA and CMEDIA AC'97
drivers are complaining about "please enable soundchip in BIOS", but since
VB doesnt emulate and therefore does not provide acces to a BIOS.... I
have no clue what to do.

And.... yes, I enabled the Audio adapter in the configuration panel for
this MsDOS guest (and set the "Host Audio driver" to "Windows Multimedia",
as it works also for my Win2000 guest).

Anybody out there who might have an idea?!?

TIA & greetings from vienna,
Andy
