Hi guys

I'd like to do the following.

I'm sitting here in Phnom Penh, and I am about to buy a so-called HP EVO 500
laptop with the purpose of running a virtualbox setup. Because of the
confusing HP/COMPAQ machine denominations and nomenclatura, I cannot find
information on whether its WXGA video chipset is fully supported, out of
the box, under linux, as well as its wifi chipset. Does anybody know if this
laptop will work under linux?

Second, if all important devices are recognizable under linux, I want to
install a linux host OS for use with virtualbox. I want it to be as
minimalistic as possible in terms of memory usage, disk footprint, et
cetera. Can I install a minimally small host OS that only installs the
support needed to manage the laptop's hardware devices and then fire
virtualbox (and its main management GUIs)?

Third, I want to create an absolutely minimal linux LAMP guest image, as
small as possible, and then if possible, even smaller. I want to serve one
or more applications out of this LAMP guest image.

Any ideas? I would really appreciate, if anybody knows anything that could
be useful in achieving these goals.

Thanks
Erik
