Hi Michael, Thanks very much. I've found the log but I'm afraid it doesn't mean much to me! ;-) Is there anything in particular I should look for? I've attached it in case you or anyone else can pick up any clues.
I forgot to mention in my original post that my desktop and laptop have completely different processors (AMD Athlon XP 2400+ on my desktop, Intel Centrino 1GHz on my laptop) so I think it's unlikely that the freezes are caused by a CPU issue.
