Here is the answer I got from WIBU regarding the incompatibility between their USB dongles and VB.
" we never tested Innitek's VirtualBox but we're often using VmWare for testing purposes with CodeMeter and WibuKey. [...] I guess that the error might be a timeout problem. [...] Maybe VirtualBox doesn't pass the communication on the USB-port in time or maybe influences the communication somehow which leads to error Another reason is that VirtualBox differs from VmWare while client and server system may share one device, that doesn't happen with VmWare, where the host system has to pass the complete device to the guest system. This may lead to problems which may result in that error, too. So I guess CodeMeter can't be used with VirtualBox. " The last paragraph is a bit confusing. Doesn't VB pass the complete USB device control to the guest? Anyway I'll try with other hosts (Win instead of Linux) to see if the so-called timeout error still occurs. Cheers, Richard. _______________________________________________ vbox-users mailing list [email protected] http://vbox.innotek.de/mailman/listinfo/vbox-users
