Hi!

By default NAT networking is used for guests. It does not support ping.
For accessing the guests, you can redirect a port from your host
to a guest. How to redirect/forward was already discussed on this list.
I guess it is described in the manual too.

Regards,
David

Subject: [vbox-users] cannot reach guest from host

Hi there, I've installed vbox on OS X (10.4.9), and it seems to work
pretty fine. Now I have gentoo linux as guest OS (and also win 2003
server). They get 10.0.2.15 as IP address from vbox DHCP. Since I have
to work with a linux application bound to apache, I need to visualize
the apache web server from my host computer but I can't even ping the
guest.
Are guest OSes reachable from Host environment? If yes, what should I
hack to get it working?

thanks

d
