Hi all
This may be a bit OT , but I suspect someone on the list may be able
to help.

Guest is winXP, frequently when I start the guest system in VBox its
saying its connected to the host , but its lieing.
On startup the guest complains there is a system error with two devices
on the network with the same name. Its not the same name its the same
workgroup, so that samba will function.
frequenly you cant ping the host or in the case I'm using telnet to the
host.
The only ways I've found of getting the connection back is either
disable the interface from the control panel, then re enable it, and
when that fails, go back to the setting on VBox and setup another
interface.
As for samba this wont function properly as XP is telling it its not
connecting.
This is one of the reasons I HATE windows, I mean really, really,
real.

Can anyone suggest how I can beat this rubbish OS in to submission and
just let me use the application I need.

TIA
absolutely hate windows
