Oh, I agree, in it's current state VB doesn't handle all VMDK's. I do think it's
a good first effort though, that will only get better I'm sure. I've been
running about 50/50 on getting VMware appliances to run in VB as downloaded,
with 5 Linux distros so far, added to my library.

The whole point though, regarding the original question, is that they do run, at
least in some instances, and using them is no different that using VDI's, from
an initial setup standpoint. Just add the VMDK to the disk manager, the same as
using an existing VDI...
