Not sure, but I don't have this issue here running gnu/linux
guests. While I have no way of knowing when the kernel is done
compressing and starts booting, I do know that I'm ready to login well
before 45 seconds have passed since starting the vm. 

I know this doesn't help you, I just wanted to point out that this
isn't something that I've seen happen, and I haven't seen anyone else
report it here either.
